A grid of pages

Drop a PDF and every page appears as a thumbnail with its original number. Drag a page onto another to move it there, or use the arrows under it; the rotate button turns it a quarter clockwise and shows the angle; duplicate inserts a copy right after it; remove takes it out. Rotate all and Reverse act on the whole document, Undo steps back through up to fifty edits, and Reset returns to the original order.

For bigger rearrangements, type the new order and apply it. The box takes the same page-range grammar as the merge and split tools — 3, 1-2, 5-, 8-1, odd, even — where pages left out are dropped, pages repeated are duplicated, and a page removed earlier comes back when named. The placeholder always shows the current order in that grammar, so you can see what to edit. The panel header counts what has changed: removed, duplicated, rotated, moved.

What saving does

pdf-lib copies the chosen source pages, in your order, into a new document and adds your rotation to each page's existing /Rotate entry, so a landscape scan that was already stored rotated ends up where you expect. Content, fonts, images and page-level annotations such as links travel with each page; bookmarks, form fields and embedded files belong to the original as a whole and are not carried over. The title is kept and the producer is set to this site. The file downloads as name-organized.pdf.

Nothing leaves the page

Thumbnails come from pdf.js, whose worker and decoders are served from this site, and the new file is written by pdf-lib — both in your browser, loaded on first use. There is no upload and no size limit beyond your device's memory. Encrypted PDFs are recognised and refused with the reason, since their pages cannot be copied without the password.

Limits

Thumbnails are drawn page by page at a small size, so a long document takes a moment to fill in and a page that will not render keeps a placeholder; the pages can still be rearranged and saved. Drag and drop uses the browser's own mechanism, which touch screens do not always support — the arrows and the order box do the same job. Nothing is stored between visits.

To join several files rather than rearrange one, use merge PDF; to cut one into separate documents, split PDF.

How do I move pages around?

Drag a thumbnail onto another to drop it there, or use the arrow buttons under each page. For bigger changes type the new order — 3, 1-2, 5- puts page 3 first; 8-1 reverses eight pages — and apply it. Pages you leave out are dropped and pages you repeat are duplicated.

Does rotating change the page for real?

Yes. The page’s /Rotate entry is set, so every viewer shows it turned; the content itself is untouched, so text stays selectable. Rotation is added to whatever the page already had, and the thumbnail shows the result.

I deleted a page by mistake.

Undo steps back through the last 50 edits, Reset restores the original order, and typing a page number in the order box brings that page back in its original orientation.

Is anything uploaded?

No. pdf.js draws the thumbnails and pdf-lib writes the new file, both in your browser. Nothing leaves the page and nothing is stored between visits.

What is lost in the saved file?

Pages keep their content, fonts, images and page-level annotations such as links. Bookmarks, form fields and embedded files belong to the document as a whole and are not carried over, and the file is rewritten so its size may differ from the original.
